As promised here is my sample pricing spreadsheet for estimating Azure costs and projecting revenue. Clearly, this has to be customized for each particular business situation and how you are employing each Azure feature but I hope this is helpful for getting you started. In a month or so you should look for an update on this, as I’ll be making some changes to make the spreadsheet more readable in general. In the meantime, enjoy and if you have any questions I’m happy to receive email on the subject.
Also an update, the lucene demo is now working with latest MVC 4. I’ll work to get that and other samples uploaded from the Tech Ed talk next.
First of all thank you all so much for attending the session. I’m glad I made it through with hardly any coughing after my bout with bronchitis right before Tech Ed…and I appreciate your following my son’s lead and laughing at me when I did cough…my son still thinks it is hilarious for some reason (he’s 4, I guess it doesn’t take much to make him laugh
).
I had a few machine issues with my Azure environment the day before my session, something I installed messed things up so I need to rebuild that environment with the latest Azure SDK and fix up the samples to work with that. I am on the job this week and plan on posting as things are ready.
Today, I plan to post the Azure pricing spreadsheet first. Stay tuned for that and thank you again for your patience! I had a lot of fun chatting with you all even though I could not show my fancy lucene demo given the environment issues…and I hope you had fun too.
Cheers and stay tuned later today for another post!
