Hey, it's me, Michele, I'm back, trying to be a better blogger. New site, new look, easier to read, I hope you enjoy it
About me? I'm married to a handsome Ecuadorian, we have a boy named Juan Pablo who is the cutest thing you've ever seen (born May 2008, so we are very busy right now), and we live in San Diego. JP has brought an interesting work-life balance, believe it or not, but I still work like a mad woman and manage to juggle it all. What was that old commercial jingle? "I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and...well you know the rest...". What is sleep?
For the better part of 10+ years I have been an architect consultant with IDesign (www.idesign.net) helping companies choose the right technologies, design, architect, implement the glue for their enterprise systems. My focus of course has been ASP.NET, WCF, security and interoperability. We provide training and architecture consulting services all over the world. I work with some really smart guys like Juval Lowy, Brian Noyes, Mark Michaelis, Miguel Castro, and Dino Esposito.
Before IDesign I spent time in development, management, and executive management through my career. Did lots of interesting stuff like build and manage teams from the groud up, implement process, manage 24x7 hosted operations before there was the cloud, participate in venture capital acquisition and other board activities...lots of fun stuff. I have had the craving to do product development again like the old days...and keep it in my area of great interest...identity federation. Since last year I became a partner and Cheif Security Architect with a very exciting security software business that I friend of mine founded many years ago in the early days of identity federation. At BiTKOO (www.bitkoo.com) where we deliver identity and authorization management software. Think the "Switzerland" of identity protocols making it SUPER EASY to do federation from any platform and gain centralized authorization policy management, governance and audit trail capabilities for your applications. Think HARDLY ANY CODE and you have authorization - bam! Check us out!
I am a Microsoft Regional Director (www.theregion.com) and a Microsoft MVP for the Connected Systems division. I try to contribute to the community through articles, whitepapers, speakinge at events and user groups, and helping organize our awesome code camps in SoCal (www.socalcodecamp.com). I also help UCSD Extension as their program advisor since 1993 for the .NET Framework courses and related courses and certificate programs.
